Ready To Learn workshops are a service of Wyoming PBS, are free of charge and can be presented at your local site. Wyoming STARS credit is available for the workshops offered. Participants receive free books for their children, content materials and a variety of educational and fun items during each workshop.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
This fun and interactive 2-hour session will explore one of the many topics covered in the series: Conflict Resolution. You’ll learn how to help children develop lifelong strategies that they can use to resolve conflicts without being aggressive or violent. And you’ll learn the difference between discipline and conflict resolution.
In addition to finding out about what kinds of things you can learn from A Place of Our Own, you’ll walk away with: a children’s book, a set of activity idea cards, a videotape of two episodes featuring conflict resolution strategies, colorful tip sheets to hang in your home or child care site, and much more.
LANGUAGE AND LITERACY – CREATING A PRINT-RICH ENVIRONMENT
This fun and interactive 2-hour session will explore one of the many topics covered in the series: Creating a Print Rich Environment. You’ll learn how to help children build their language and literacy skills by taking advantage of opportunities that already exist in your daily routine and by surrounding children with opportunities to read and write.
