National Salute to Veterans

Wyoming PBS Special "National Salute to Veterans"
Airs Sunday, November 11 at 07:00 PM

At 7 p.m. EST on Nov. 11, Wyoming PBS will air "National Salute to Veterans" and will bring the nation together to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans and their families.

Hosted by acclaimed actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise, who dedicate time and support to veterans' causes, the all-star line-up includes distinguished American leader Gen. Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.); Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker; "American Idol" finalist Pia Toscano; singer-songwriter Javier Colon (winner of "The Voice"); "American Idol" winner Kris Allen; popular actors A.J. Cook and Jason Ritter; gospel legend Yolanda Adams; the National Symphony Orchestra; and maestro Jack Everly.

The "National Salute to Veterans" features a special thank you to our troops who have been serving in Iraq and Afghanistan by General Colin Powell; a heartfelt tribute to our wounded warriors for their bravery and service to country; a look at how veterans and their families are coping with the enduring, and often invisible, wounds of war; and the touching story of the healing friendship between a young woman and a Vietnam veteran who served with her father.

The American Forces Network will broadcast the one-hour program to our troops serving around the world.

"National Salute to Veterans" is produced by Capital Concerts, the production force behind "A Capitol Fourth" and the "National Memorial Day Concert." These premier celebrations have become annual traditions and top-rated programs on PBS.

"National Salute to Veterans" is sponsored by Lockheed Martin Corporation and made possible by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the National Park Service, the Department of the Army, PBS and public television stations nationwide. All travel is provided by American Airlines.
