Fundraiser with Trollbeads for Central Wyoming College Nursing Program
A Lander clothing boutique is hosting an event featuring a demonstration on the creation of the jewelry line Trollbeads Saturday, August 27 to raise funds for a Central Wyoming College nursing scholarship endowment.
Susan Meeker, owner of “In My Window,” is donating 10 percent of the proceeds from the trunk show to the scholarship endowment, and Trollbeads is also giving seven truly unique glass beads for a silent auction to be held during the 3-8 p.m. event.
The show and demonstration by one of Trollbeads’ glass artisans are being held in the Monarch Room at The Pronghorn Lodge, located at 150 E. Main in Lander. With the proceeds from the auction and the sale going to a CWC Foundation scholarship endowment, the gifts are eligible for a match from the state.
The Trollbeads artist will show how a single flame is used to manipulate glass to create the colors, bubbles, stripes, flowers and patterns that are unique to Trollbeads, said Meeker, who has several other promotions planned for the event.
Promotions include a free bracelet chain with purchase of an upgraded clasp, buy three beads and get a fourth for free; $50 off any silver/gold beads worth $250 or more and $100 off any gold beads worth $500 or more.
The boutique will provide complimentary appetizers and a cash bar will also available. Out-of-town shoppers can get a discount on lodging from the Pronghorn by mentioning the event.
