Allegiant has previously appeared in Aviation Week's rankings, which have been conducted annually since 1996, but this is the first time it has grabbed the top spot. "Allegiant's business model is unique and has resulted in the airline having stronger financial health than any other airline, including legacy carriers." The ranking scores an airline's liquidity, fuel management, financial health, earnings performance and asset management. Allegiant earned a total score of 83. No. 2 on the low-cost airline list was Ryanair Holdings with a total score of 75. On the web: www.Allegiantair.com |
