J. Shogren comes with a fantastic resume, highlighting a life that has led him all over the world. He is a renowned Professor at the University of Wyoming, holding the position of Stroock Professor of Natural Resource Conservation and Management in the Department of Economics and Finance. In 2008 he was one of three international Professors appointed as a lifetime member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the famous group responsible for awarding the annual Nobel Prize in physics, chemistry, literature and economics. He currently splits his time between Wyoming and Sweden, where he worked as a professor for the King of Sweden.
All of this experience underscores his musical talent, which can be described as hard acoustic roots. From Centennial, Wyoming, he has produced three exceptional albums, his most recent titled “Bird Bones and Muscle,” released in March 2010.
“Blending more styles than we can list here, Shogren somehow ties it all together for his own unique sound. Thoughtful and larger than life songs set to a hard acoustic background make for some exciting listening. He's traveled the world and the stories are plentiful in these grooves. At the end of the day though, it's Americana at its best.”-- VILLAGE RECORDSFor more information please visit: http://www.jshogren.com/
