Teachers’ Domain

Teachers' Domain

Teachers' Domain is an online library of more than 1,000 free media resources from the best in public television. These classroom resources, featuring media from NOVA, Frontline, Design Squad, American Experience, and other public broadcasting and content partners are easy to use and correlate to state and national standards. Teachers' Domain resources include video and audio segments, Flash interactives, images, documents, lesson plans for teachers, and student-oriented activities. Once you register, you can personalize the site using "My Folders" and "My Groups" to save your favorite resources into a folder and share them with your colleagues or students. Teachers' Domain strives to strengthen teacher knowledge by providing innovative teaching methods that incorporate technology in the classroom and inspire students to learn.

Teachers' Domain online courses provide K-12 teachers new ways to inspire students, broaden content knowledge, and integrate technology into their classrooms. Each Teachers' Domain online course features outstanding digital media from NOVA and other PBS programming, and course pedagogy is driven by inquiry and exploration.

Teachers' Domain Collections feature more than 1,000 classroom-ready multimedia science resources to enhance students' learning experiences, including:

  • High-quality multimedia from NOVA, American Experience, and other public television productions and partners
  • Video and audio clips, interactives, images, and documents
  • Explanatory background articles for each resource
  • Correlations to state and national curriculum standards
  • Media-rich lesson plans
  • Resource Management tools

Teachers' Domain Professional Development Courses, available through TeacherLine feature:

  • Many of the same high-quality multimedia resources from NOVA, American Experience, and other public television productions and partners
  • Classroom video clips of exemplary practice
  • Inquiry-based methodology
  • Smart integration of technology in the classroom
  • All content correlated to state and national standards

Once you register and login to your free Teachers' Domain account you will be able to:

  • Search Teachers' Domain for resources using simple keyword searches by subject, media type, or grade level
  • Use Manage My Folders to create and access custom folders or add notes to your selected resources
  • Create and manage groups of people who can securely access your custom folders using My Groups feature
  • View Standards to see how the resource correlates to national, state and national standards
  • Access Background Essays with additional information about the resource and questions for discussion
